Your first step: The Roblox assessment
No resume black hole here. The assessment is your first interview, built to level the playing field and showcase your skills because capability matters most. That’s why early career applicants complete a series of assessments thoughtfully designed to eliminate human bias and rigorously evaluate the critical skills required to thrive at Roblox. You can tackle them all at once or pace them out over a week, whichever approach empowers you to perform your best.
What we're evaluating
We thoughtfully design our assessments to help eliminate human bias and rigorously evaluate the critical skills needed to innovate and thrive at Roblox. From marketing and data science to software engineering and product management, we use a mix of assessments that measure problem-solving, technical ability, and decision-making skills. You can tackle them all at once or pace them out over a week, whichever approach empowers you to perform your best.
Problem solving
Built on Roblox, our problem solving tasks are a series of game-based assessments designed to demonstrate how you approach and solve problems.
Decision making
You’ll be presented with a series of workplace scenarios designed to assess how you make decisions for effective outcomes.
Coding skills
Sent to all technical applications and entirely unique to Roblox, there's a coding evaluation alongside an assessment on algorithmic reasoning.
Practice Games
Fully replayable and untimed to help you build familiarity with the game mechanics in our assessments.
Kaiju Cats
Kaiju Cats mirrors the basic gameplay UI and strategic tactics you'll encounter in Robots and Factories.
Coding Cookies
Coding Cookies helps you build confidence with the block-coding interface that you’ll encounter during Outpost: Mars.

Are your internships open to all class levels?
Yes! Our internships are open to all class standings and grade levels from underclassmen to master's students. We also offer internships tailored for PhD students.
What does team matching look like for Software Engineering roles?
All incoming interns and full-time hires will have the opportunity to learn about the available teams and the work they are doing. You will rank your preferences, and we will match you with a team that aligns with your interests a few weeks before your first day.

How do I best prepare for the assessments?
Check out our practice test, Kaiju Cats, to familiarize yourself with our problem-solving assessments. We also offer Speak_, a platform for assessment resources to help you prepare.
I have finished my assessments - when can I expect to hear back?
After you've completed the assessment, you'll hear back from our team within a few weeks. We use this time to carefully calibrate assessments before following up directly with any next steps.
How do I best prepare for interviews?
