Scammers sometimes impersonate Roblox to target job seekers. Because security is a vital part of respecting our community, here's how to confirm you're connecting with a Roblox builder and what to do if something feels off.
Signs of a scam
If you encounter any of the following, stop communication immediately.
01 Contact from a non-Roblox email
Messages from Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, or any domain other than @roblox.com are not from us — even if the sender's name appears to be a Roblox builder.
02 A job offer for a role not listed on careers.roblox.com
We only hire for roles that are publicly posted on our careers site.
03 Requests for financial or personal details early in the process
Scammers often ask for bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, or credit card information before any formal offer.
04 High-pressure urgency
Scammers create false deadlines: 'you must respond today' or 'the offer expires in 24 hours.' Roblox gives candidates reasonable time to consider opportunities.
05 Poor grammar or mismatched branding
Misspellings, inconsistent logos, or awkward language in communications claiming to be from Roblox are strong indicators of fraud.
06 No interview process

A Roblox recruiter or builder will never directly ask a candidate for financial information or request payment of any kind as part of the hiring process.
